How to decongest TIN FACTORY traffic
Cause of Congestion
- Issue with Tin Factory traffic blocks is due several crossings, junctions & u-turns is a smaller area (might be 500 meter square area)
- Bus stop at the start of KR Puram fly over
- More vehicles during peak hours
- Changing the vehicle directions (Crossings, stoppings and uturns slowdown the vehicles behind causing grid locks)
- Vehicles from 4 sources towards 4 destinations -> resulting in 16 combinations or directions that causes bottle necks
Proposed Solution
- The permenant solution for this issue is to reduce the vehicles stopping / changing the directions or taking U-turns - by utilizing an elevated circle
- Approach roads joins to the circle tangentially to avoid cutting into the fast moving traffic
- The incoming & outgoing traffic should enter or exit circle in such a way that the vehicle direction is aligned to the flow tangentially
- The circle should have vehicle bays for stopping in case of emergency or needs
- The circle should be inbetween Whitefield road and KR Puram road after the hanging bridge
- Evivated way connects the mahavadepura road to the elivated circle in such a way to enter the circle tangentially
- Circle should wide enough to accomodate all the traffic (atleast twice as wide as the largest road) - 8 line or 12 line
- There might be railway over bridge to fly over the railway track
Traffic direction from Biyappanahalli / Kasturinagar
- Biyappanahalli / Kasturinagar to Whitefield - Will continue the same route no change
- Biyappanahalli / Kasturinagar to Silkboard - Will continue to be on the same route - no change
- Biyappanahalli / Kasturinagar to KR Puram - contine the same route no change
Traffic direction from KR Puram
- KR Puram to Biyappanahalli / Kasturinagar - No change - will continue the same route
- KR Puram to Silk Board -> Vehicle Enter the elivated circle and exit to mahavadepura road from circle
- KR puram to ITPL/Whitefield -> Vehicle enter the elivated circle from KR Puram side and exit to ITPL main road
Traffic direction from ITPL /Whitefield / Phionex Mall
- ITPL /Whitefield to KR Puram -> Vehicle enter the elivated circle from ITPL side and will exit at to KR Puram (Old Madras Road)
- Phionex Mall (ITPL / Whitefield road) toowards Silk board -> Vehicle enter the elivated circle and exit to mahadevapura side main road
- ITPL/whitefield to Biyappanahalli - continue on the same road - no change
Traffic direction from Silk board / Mahavadepura
- Silk board / Mahavadepura to KR Puram -> Vehicle enter elivated circle and exit to KR Puram on Old Madras road (OMR)
- Silkboard / Mahadevapura to Whitefield -> Vehicle enter elivated circle and exit to whitefield / ITPL road
- Silkboard / Mahadevapura to Biyappanahalli / Kasturinagar - No change - will continue using the same road
In the drawing below I considered to
- Avoid flyover above buildings
- Avoid flyover above residential colonies
I do understand that there entry & exit road may overlap with main roads, but proper planning and modular execution should minimize the traffic issues during the construction and would solve the issue for ever.
Bangalore may grow and attract talents better if the traffic conditions and pollution are improved. I hope this helps
